N5bn Debt: AMCON Seizes Mansion Of Ex Kwara Governor

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has taken over the Ilorin mansion of the immediate past governor of Kwara State , Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed over N5billion debt.

The action was carried out by Barrister Robert Ohuoba, one of the leading Asset Management Partners (AMPs) of AMCON.

Confirming the incident, Head, Corporate Communications Department of AMCON, Mr Jude Nwauzor in a statement said the debt was a personal one owed by the former Governor.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the development followed the order of Hon. Justice Muhammed Liman of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division on the issue.

The court also ordered the freezing of the Bank Accounts of the former governor and his two companies.

When contacted, the former Governor’s Media Aide, Muideen Akorede who promised to get back, also added that the issue was a minor disagreement.
