NDE Trains Fifty Women In Kano

The National Directorate of Employment NDE has reiterated its commitment in training women and youths with different skills acquisition ,aimed at making them self relient and providing job opportunities.

Director General of the Agency Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stated at the opening ceremony of an empowerment collaboration scheme training for fifty unemployed female graduates in Kano.

Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo ,represented by the Head of Women Employment of the NDE, Mrs Joyce Yarnab said the agency was working tirelessly in ensuring that the challenge of unemployment among women and youths was curtailed nationwide.

He said the programme was targeted at training fifty women from Kano with three different skills geared at making them self reliant and employers of labour.

The Director General noted that the participants would be trained for ten days on food processing and packaging, events management and make up.

Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo maintained that the programme was a pilot scheme, starting with eight benefitting states comprised of Kano, Katsina, Nassarawa, Taraba, Plateau, Enugu, Ogu and Delta States.

“We discovered that with Advent of Covid 19 pandemic and insecurity challenges across the Nation ,alot of women have lost alot of Businesses , that’s why we came up with this integrated training of three traits put together,namely Food processing and packaging, make up And Gyale Tying, and interior Decoration ,for women to learn, and also to create more jobs opportunities”

The NDE boss explained that fifty women would be trained in each of the eight benefitting states.

Earlier , the Kano State Acting Coordinator of NDE Idris Sani Yakasai said the training was aimed at fighting the menace of employment.

He remarked that in the last thirty years , the NDE introduced various programmes and innovations geared towards reducing unemployment in all parts of the Nation.

The Acting Coordinator charged the participants to make maximum utilization of the opportunity aimed at ensuring that the stated goals were achieved.
