Borno Literary Society Unveils Tukur Buratai’s Autobiography

Dr Abubakar Othman of the University of Maiduguri reviewing the autobiography of General Tukur Buratai “The Legend of Buratai ” in Maiduguri.

Leaders in the country have been urged to mentor the younger generation to have patriotic and selfless leaders in the society. 

A Senior Lecturer with the Department of English and Literary Studies University of Maiduguri ,Dr Abubakar Othman gave the advice during a public book review of the autobiography of Nigeria’s Ambassador to Benin Republic and former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai. 

The book titled “The Legend of Buratai ” the the second volume was organised by Borno Literary Society in Maiduguri. 

Dr Abubakar Othman who is the lead reviewer said the book which has nine chapters is a historical documentation of an enigmatic leader, his adventurers life and testimonies by prominent personalities. 

“We are not here dealing with a military General but we are dealing with a humanist, very unassuming personality and it is that humanism, this simplicity that permeated the pages of this book, he stressed “.

He explained that the publication is timely as it promotes national unity, peaceful coexistence and respect for the sanctity of human life, coming at a time when the sense of unity and collective coexistence of the country is being threatened. 

President Borno Literary Society Mr Hassan Abdullahi observed that the Society has been advocating for indigenous role models so that youths of Borno would apply the principles of life of these personalities and become productive citizens. 

He appealed to Ambassador Tukur Buratai to continue to write more books that will inspire youths so as to tap from his wealth of wisdom and experiences.

The Nigerian Ambassador to Benin Republic General Tukur Buratai participated virtually during the book review alongside members of the literary society.
