CAC Staff Receive Training On Controlling Procurement Related Corruption

Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has begun Training Workshop on Curbing Procurement Related Corruption in Government Establishments for its Executive and Non-Executive Staff.

The 3-day workshop, tagged “Overview of Public Procurement Act 2007, Processes and Procedures for Goods, Works and Service, Contract Management & Dispute Resolution: Measures for Curbing Procurement Related Corruption in Government Establishments”, is aimed at capacity building for the staff.

The Registrar General, Alhaji Garba Abubakar who stated this during the training in Nasarawa State, reiterated commitment towards ensuring training and retraining of CAC Staff while commended the participants for their exemplary conduct at the training.

He also explained that participants were treated to Aerobics and Health talk in a bid to ensure they maintain a healthy lifestyle.


According to him, “The training programme for the selected 443 staffers which will be conducted in streams started with the executive cadre and expected to cut across all cadres of Staff”.

“The next two streams due for next week will focus on Understanding Digital Transformation and the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA, 2020”.

Some of the beneficiaries of the training programme described their experience as worthwhile and commended the Registrar General, Alhaji Garba Abubakar for prioritizing the training and re-training of the workforce.

They view it as perimeter broadening, wide- ranging as well as gave them further guidance on the provisions of the Procurement Act.

Others applauded the quality of the facilitators and the knowledge received particularly on the Finance Act, 2020 adding that it would go a long way in improving and shaping their decision making.
