Media stations have been described as watch dogs of the society saddled with the responsibilities of promoting culture, peace and harmony through factual news and programs.

The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero made the assertion while recieving the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM Malam Abba Bashir at the Emirs palace Kano.

According to the Emir the media are at the fore front of Nigeria’a unity and progress as such there was urgent need to avoid fake news and programs aimed at promoting ethnic and religious crisis.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero explained that the media had a major role to play as the general public believe in the media for educative, entertaining enlightenment programs.

He reiterated Kano emirate’s commitment in supporting the media to achieve the desired objectives.

Earlier in his remark, the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM, Malam Abba Bashir pointed out that he recorded tremendous achievements since assuming office, Saying that in less than a month the station can now be listened online from any where in the world.

He Maintained that they were at the Emirs palace to seek for blessings and assistance to move the station forward.

The General Manager noted that the federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria had established FM stations across the 36 states of the federation which required huge efforts by state government’s to ensure the stations discharged their mandate.

He reaffirmed Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM’s readiness to discharge it’s responsibilities according to laid down broadcasting ethics.
