Good Governance Critical To Youth Development -Commissioner

PERMANENT SECRETARY MINISTRY FOR SPECIAL DUTIES HAJIYA MU’AZATU ISAH DUTSE WHILE RECEIVING MEMBERS OF AREWA YOUTHS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

Global world practices on good governance has been identified as one of the cardinal objectives of Governor Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration.

The Kano state Commissioner for special duties Alhaji Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai stated this while receiving members of Arewa Youths for Good Governance in his office.

The commissioner who was represented by the Permanent secretary of the ministry Hajiya Mu’azatu Isah Dutse pointed out that the Kano state government was committed to improving the lives of its citizens through education, skills acquisition and empowerment among others.

He explained that the Aliko Dangote skills acquisition center was the first of its kind in the northern part of the country with state of the art facilities aimed at empowering women and youths to become self relient.

Alhaji Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai urged members of Arewa Youths for good governance to extend their enlightenment campaigns to other states on the importance of centers such as the Aliko Dangote skills acquisition center to the development of the society.

“A memo has been submitted on your requests from the government to enable you conduct your activities,broaden your enlightenment to all northern Governors to emulate the efforts of the state government on skills acquisition such as the establishment if the Aliko Dangote skills acquisition center”

Earlier in his remarks the national chairman of the Arewa Youth for good governance Alhaji Dantani Dio Zuru said the association was committed to advocating for good governance, importance of girl child education, eradicating street begging, drug abuse, human trafficking among others.

He noted that they were in Kano to sensitize youths against engaging in all forms of societal vices capable of inciting violence that may lead to ethinic and religious crises.

Alhaji Dantani described lack of adequate sensitization materials, means of transportation and accomodations as some of the major set backs faced by the association.

” Youths should not allow themselves to be used by unpatriotic Nigerians, and shun all devisive tendencies aimed at inciting religious and ethnic violence”

The visit was marked by speech and award presentations to the Kano state commissioner for Special duties Alhaji Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai and the senior special assistant to Kano state governor on special duties Alhaji Sagir Sabo.
