Kano Assembly: Governor Seeks Approval To Appoint Chairman, Members

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has submitted a letter seeking for the approval of the Kano state house of assembly to appoint chairman and members of the assembly service commission.

The speaker of the Kano state house of assembly Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari stated this during today’s plenary.

Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari said the state government had nominated Alhaji Nasiru Mu’azu Kiru as chairman of the assembly service commission.

Others include, Ishaq Tanko Gambaga, Ali Abdu Doguwa, Salisu Abubakar, Isiyaku Umar Mahmud among others.

He pointed out that in addition to the names the curriculum vitae and credentials of the nominees were also submitted to the house.

The house committee on public service was mandated to scrutinize and screen the nominees within one week.

In a similar development the house had also recieved a letter from the state auditor general on the audited accounts of some ministries and departments in the state.

According to the letter, over 15 MDS were audited and copies of the comments on the affected organizations were sent to the Kano state house of assembly for further legislative action.

The house standing committee on public accounts was given three months to scrutinize and submit it’s report.

In the same vain, the Kano state house of assembly had summoned the chairman of the Kano state internal revenue service Alhaji Abdulrazaq Salihu to appear before it during the next plenary session.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the sitting the majority leader of the house Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari said the revenue boss was summoned to provide the state of revenue collection across the 44 local government areas.
