NHGSFP: FG Begins Distribution Of Feeding Utensils In Kano.

Federal Government has Reaffirmed it’s determination in ensuring that the National Home Grown Feeding program Achieved maximum Success in all parts of the country.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk Stated this during the Flag off of the Distribution of Feeding utensils to beneficiaries, held at kwalli special Primary School, in Kano municipal local Government Area.

Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk who was represented by permanent secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Bashir Nura Alkali said the National Home Grown Feeding program was initiated in 2016 by the Federal Government with the aim of providing a one free nutritious meal to pupils in primary one to three,in public Schools Across the Nation.

She said the program was an important intervention for poverty elimination,geared towards Addressing gaps in Nutrition,School Enrollment Among Others.

The Minister noted that the current Data on pupils ,cooks and the Value Chain reveals that over nine Million pupil are receiving meals in primary School Across the Nation.

“Over 53 000, Schools are currently benefitting across 752 Local Government Areas of the country”

In a remark Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state,represented by the state Commissioner for Education Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Kiru Aplauded federal governments effort for introducing the program.

He explained that the food utensils would be distributed to the benefitting Schools ,and assured that the items would be used judiciously.

“I using this opportunity to extend the appreciated if the Government and people of Kano state to Mr President for the kind gesture”

He said Kano state government had constituted a steering committee to monitor and ensure effective service delivery on the program,stressing that the programme had pave way in increase in pupils enrollment among other Developments.

The ceremony was attended by senior Government Officials, professionals in the Educational sector and other stakeholders.
