NIS Rescues 9 From Traffickers In Jigawa

Nine people have been rescued by the Jigawa state command of the Nigerian Immigration service from human trafficking agent at Nigeria/Niger boarder road in Jigawa state.

The State Comptroller, Alhaji Ismail Abba disclosed this while parading the victims at the command headquarters in Dutse.

According to him, the command has declared one Alhaji Ibrahim Kano suspected to be the human trafficking agent.

He further explained that, the victims which include eight from South-West and one from north central.

Alhaji Abba pointed out that they were intercepted along Kazaure enroute Kwangolam in their onward journey to Tripoli in Libya via Niger Republic.

He said the victims were six females and three males that fall within the age braket of 20 to 29 years, which are from different states. 

One from Ekiti, one from Benue, one Oyo, two from Lagos and the remaining four are from Ogun states respectively”.

He explained that the Comptroller General of NIS, Muhammad Babandede has directed the command to handover the victims to NAPTIP.

He also advised parents and the general public to always desist from being deceived of sending their children abroad for greener pasture.
