The member representing Dawakin tofa ,Rimin gado and Tofa Alhaji Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe has called on leaders of the All progressive Congress in Kano to Allow party members to exercise their constitutional Responsibilities of voting their party leaders.
Jobe made the while briefing Journalist shortly after the conduct of APC Local Government Congress at Tofa local Government Area of Kano state.
He said the local government Congress was conducted peacefully in tofa local Government Area ,in the presence of all security personnel, journalist and other stakeholders.
“APC local Government Congress was conducted peacefully In tofa local Government, that’s my constituent ,I voted amidst party members and we that God it was peaceful, Mahbu Liman as chairman,and Mukhtar Abdullahi tofa as secretary and other 25 party leaders “
The member who was in serving his fourth term as member representing Dawakin tofa, Rimin gado and Tofa caution APC leaders to desist from any form of forcefully installment of party representives,saying it is unwise and undemocratically.
“Politics comprises participating in fully Democratic ideals ,you don’t hold party elections in your homes, of Government house, go back to the people so that they can decide”
He Appealed APC party mambers in Kano to allow people to elect their choice, saying appointing people to lead the party was undemocratic.
A member of APC at Jobe Sani Hakuma Jobe who cast his vote commended the peaceful conduct of the local Government Congress.
In the same vein Similar election took place at salanta in Sharada ward of Kano municipal local Government Area.
Our Correspondent who witnessed the election reports that members of the APC in Sharada ward ,qued up peacefully during the local Government APC Congress in Sharada.
Speaking to journalist,member Representing Kano Municipal at the federal House of Representatives,Alhaji Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada Said they conducted their vote in salanta ward Sharada , peaceful as enshrined in the Constitution of their Party.
“Gone where the Days when people would just sit in their houses and decide for people, Members of the party Should be Allowed to Exercise their Civis Responsibility’.
” We bought our forms from the party Headquarters under the platform of Buhari Organization led by Alhaji Shehu Dalhatu, and all the Contestants paid their party Dues, so they are Bonafide members of APC”
Murtala Bashir Emerged Chairman of the APC Congress at the salanta Sharada ward,while Mujitaba Dan A’i Kabara was elected as the secretary.
It was gathered that in most of the local Government Areas of Kano state, the concensus formula was Adopted during the Congress.
Reacting to the development, the Secretary of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Zakari Sarina said the exercise went smoothly and there was no election.
He said “it was agreed by the stakeholders last week at a meeting presided over by the Governor to adopt consensus arrangement. As far as the party (caretaker committee) is concerned, no local government held any election.
