Niger State Bans Weekly Cattle Markets, Sale Of Petrol In Jerrycans

Niger State Government has also ban the sale of petroleum products in jerry cans and any other container at filling stations.

Similarly all weekly cattle markets accross the State are hereby suspended.

Approval to this effect was given by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in a statement signed by Secretary to the Niger State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane and issued to Newsmen in Minna.

According to the statement, all filling stations should not sell petrol of more than ten thousand naira to each vehicle at a time and should be wary of vehicles and motorcycles coming for repeat purchases.

Ahmed Ibrahim Matane further explained that Niger state government also suspended the operation of trucks carrying firewood timber across the state.

“Under the new security arrangements all motorcycles are only allowed to operate from six o’clock in the morning to six in the evening throughout Niger state”.

Government also directed security agencies to ensure effective and strict compliance of these measures to achieve the desired objective.
