Over 150 million Naira was disbursed to less privileged and vulnerable persons in Auyo local government area of Jigawa state under the federal government cash transfer programme.

Speaking during the disbursement, Jigawa state communication officer of the cash transfer, Malam Mustapha Madobi said the programme under the federal ministry of humanitarian affairs and social development was introduced in 2018 to alleviate and reduce the level of poverty in the society. 

Malam Mustapha Madobi pointed out that, so far, more than one hundred and seventy thousand beneficiaries were enrolled in the programme in Jigawa State.

In his speech, the chairman Auyo local government council, Alhaji Muhammad Ahmad Sani commended both the federal and Jigawa state governments for introducing the programme aimed at uplifting the socio-economic wellbeing of the downtrodden in the society.

He called on the beneficiaries to make the best use of the money to improve their living and continue to pray for President Buhari and Governor Badaru’s administrations especially in overcoming the current security threats and economic recovery.

Also speaking, the state team leader payment service provider, Mr Samuel Ojerinde said the payment was conducted by a digital technology system to avoid hitches.

He congratulated the beneficiaries and commended other service providers for fully cooperating to ensure a hitch-free payment exercise.

Our Correspondent reports that each beneficiary received twenty thousand naira arrears for four consecutive months.
