Update: Zamfara State Rescues 18 Students, Staff Of College Of Agriculture Bakura

Zamfara State Government has successfully secured the release of students and staff of College of Agriculture and Animal Science Bakura abducted last two weeks.

The students who are eighteen in number were abducted days ago are reported to be released with out paying any ransom

Governor Bello Matawalle who received the students at Government House Gusau, said government will continue to strategize more efforts in securing the release of other people who were in the hands of the bandits.

He also commended the efforts of the security personnel and other stakeholders for their contribution in ensuring safe release of the abductees.

The Governor also condole the families of the two students whose lost their lives during their stay with bandits and pray for Almighty Allah to grant the deceased jannatul firdausi.

Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana said the abductees were released unconditionally without paying any ransom.

CP Elkana also assured to rid the state out of all forms of criminalities with the support of other security agencies working in the state.

One of the abductees who spoke on behalf of the abductees called on state government to banned selling of alcohol and other hard drugs across the state as well as to banned activities of vigilante groups across the state.
