AIG Muri Umar Musa Assumes Office In Anambra

A new Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 13, has officially assumed duty.

AIG Muri Umar Musa who hails from Taraba State was formerly the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command.

A release made available by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 13, Princess Nkiruka Nwode says the new AIG is an excellent detective with leadership prowess and also a disciplinarian who is an advocate of due process.

“AIG Muri has worked in various capacities in the force amongst which are, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Anambra State Command 1992-1997, Personal Assistant (PA) to the then sole Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Bukar Ali 1999 – 2002, 2/ic IGP’s Monitoring Unit 2002-2008, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) 2008 – 2009. Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) FCT Command 2011- 2012 as well as ACP and DCP Procurement Unit Force FHQ, Abuja between 2015 and 2018 respectively”.

The statement says that the AIG served briefly as an Adviser with the Nigeria Ports Authority, Lagos before starting his career in the Nigeria Police Force having enlisted as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on match 3rd, 1990.

AIG Umar is a member of several reputable Organizations including the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police ( IACP).

AIG Umar Musa Muri is a recipient of many commendations for diligent and excellent performances which includes … (a) Deputy Inspector General of Police commendation for diligent and excellent supervision in 2012. (b) Deputy Inspector General of Police commendation for devoting and Adherence to constitutional Duty and core values of the Nigeria Police Force 2015.”

He takes over from AIG Mukadas Garba who retired from the force after 35 years of meritorious service to the nation.
