Sule Lamido University, Jigawa Matriculates Over 1000 Students

Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa in Jigawa State says it has matriculated 1, 086 students.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Lawan Sani Taura stated this during the matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted undergraduate students of the University for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.

According to him, 1,086 candidates were admitted through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME and direct entry into the three Faculties of the University.

Professor Taura pointed out that Faculty of Education has 301 students, Faculty of Humanities 386 and Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences 402 students.

The Vice Chancellor maintained that, the ceremony was to initiate the 1,086 students registered as full fledged members of the SLU Academic Community, affirming that they have joined the community of dedicated teachers, scholars and researchers whose objective was to learn, create and disseminate new knowledge for the betterment of humanity.

Professor Sani Taura urged the students to take maximum advantage of their entry into the University to develop themselves in terms of character and learning, in order to become productive and useful members of the society.

While restating the University’s commitment towards ensuring a conducive teaching and learning and research environment, the Vice Chancellor noted that, the university and the Faculty Libraries were fully stocked with research materials in both hard and soft copies for use by the students.

He therefore advised them to make the best use of their stay in the University in order to make their future worthwhile, prosperous and become good citizens for their personal development and that of Jigawa State, the country and humanity at large.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the Matriculation Oath was administered by the Registrar of the University and the occasion was well attended by all the Senate Members of the University including the Jigawa State Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board JAMB Coordinator, Alhaji Bello Aminu.
