IDPs Receive SMEs Empowerment Machinery In Jigawa

Nigerian Maritime and Safety Administration Agency NIMASA has donated small and medium enterprises SMEs empowerment machinery to internally displaced persons IDPs in Jigawa State.

During the official presentation of the items at the office of the Secretary to the State Government, the representative of NIMASA, Adamu Dankura Adamu expressed the Agency’s sympathy to the displaced persons.

He said they were in Jigawa State to commiserate with the people of the State and to let them know that NIMASA was with the people of Jigawa State  at this trying period of life.

Dankura explained that the agency, as a socially responsible organisation, and following the directive of the Federal Government to all her Agencies and Parastatals to raise a hand to displaced persons in the Country, was by the gesture, complying to ensure some form of comfort to the affected people.

“This is our Corporate social responsibility. We are doing this in so many  States. Nigerian organisations are caring but nobody beats NIMASA and we are spurred to do more,” Dankura assured.

Responding on behalf of the State Government, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir, thanked the NIMASA delegation for the donation, while describing the agency as a wonderful partner.

Radio Nigeria reports that items donated include sewing machines, grinding machines,generators, hair clippers, complete barbing accessories, tricycles, motorcycles among others.
