‘Leaders Need To Rise Up, Improve Wellbeing Of Nigerians’ – Malam Mohammadu Sanusi

Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasiru Elrufai has described the Khalifa of Tijjaniya Movement of Nigeria, Malam Mohammadu Sanusi, as one of the greatest leader in Nigeria that contributed his quota in the development of the nation perticulerly in the banking sector and the traditional Institution.

He stated this during the first annual Malam Mohammadu Sanusi Colloquium 2021 held in Kaduna.

The Governor represented by his Deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe said his highness had earned recognitions as an economist, a banker, public intellectual and contributed immensely for the Socio economic development of the nation.

Governor Elrufai noted that Khalifa Mohammadu Sanusi was a member of the generation born around independence, raised in a period of optimism for the country and determined to do his best to help realise the rich promise that Nigerians and natural endowments have long suggested.

He expressed appreciation to the former Emir of Kano for accepting to serve as Vice-Chairman, Board of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency KADIPA and Chancellor of Kaduna State University.

In a remark, Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tanbuwal noted that, Khalifa Mohammadu Sanusi had contributed immediately to the economic growth and development of Nigeria through a number of his policies during his tenure as the CBN Governor.

As a traditional ruler, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal says the leader has united the people of Kano State and proud to be associated with him.

In his Addressed, the Khalifa of Tijjaniya Movement in Nigeria and the Former Emir of Kano, Malam Mohammadu Sanusi called on leaders to rise up to their responsibilities to improve the lives of Nigerians.

Malam Mohammadu Sanusi pointed out that, it was no longer about the government, political party, traditional rulers but a collective responsibility by all stakeholders irrespective of their differences to improve the well-being of Nigerians.

He also stressed the need for Nigerians to understand the implication of the choices they are making, saying that, seventy Percent of the challenges of this country from insecurity among others had the root from economy.

“For my brothers Emirs and other traditional rulers I prayed that God gives you the courage to stand-up and remember that you are an emir of the people not an emir of the government, that your primary constituency are those people who prayed for you daily and night’ Allah ya Kara lafiya’ they are not your slaves.

Malam Mohammadu Sanusi called on the Emirs to have courage to stand by their people no matter the situation and circumstances.

He pledged to continue prayed for all the leaders of the country for Allah’s guidance to take the right policies.

In a remark, Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamali also described Malam Mohammadu Sanusi as a man of wisdom and proven integrity.

Also speaking, the Former governatorial candidate in Kano State under the flatform of PDP, Malam Abba Kabir Yusuf said Khalifa Mohammadu Sanusi said the people of Kano State were missing his style of leadership, courage and confidence.

“I must said that” we the good people of Kano State have missed you , we have missed you but we are still with you, you are still a leader” he said

He prayed to Allah to grant him long life, good health and prosperity to continue servicing humanity especially the good people of Kano State.

People from all works of life including his colleagues from the banking sector, Traditional rulers, politicians among others attended the event to celebrate his sixty years anniversary.
