Kano State Hisbah Board has reiterated it’s commitment in upholding the rule of law while discharging it’s duties and responsibilities.

The Commander General of the Agency, Sheikh Dr. Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina made the disclosure while recieving the first shari’a Judge posted to Hisbah at the Board’s headquarter, Sharada Kano.

According to him, Allah (SWT) had made it possible for Hisbah to have a Judge to mediate on cases after a long period of time.

Sheikh Harun pointed out that creation of the Hisbah Court would go a long way in solving cases reported to the agency without being taken to other Courts.

Also speaking, the Kano State Grand Khadi who was represented by the Chief Registrar, Shari’a Courts, Malam Abubakar Haruna Khalil, explained that the court had jurisdiction to treat cases reported to Hisbah and other eight local government areas.

Local governments under the courts jurisdiction include: kano municipal, Gwale, Nasarrawa, Tarauni, Madobi, Ungoggo, Kumbotso and Fagge.

He noted that the State government had appointed 34 new judges to further strengthen the judicial system in the State.

In his remarks, the newly appointed Shari’a judge of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Barrister Ali Ibrahim Danzaki promised to work tirelessly according to the ethics of the profession.

He charged Hisbah personnel and other relevant stakeholders to give him the maximum cooperation to achieve the desired objectives.
