PDP delegates in Niger state defy heavy downpour to Cast their Vote

Barrister Tanko Beji of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Niger state has been declared winner of the chairmanship election conducted in Minna.

Announcing the results Chairman PDP Congress Committee and Deputy Governor of Benue state Engineer Benson Abuno explained that a total of two thousand three hundred and five delegates were acredited in the process.

Of the number he said Barrister Tanko Beji polled two thousand and ninety two votes to emerged as Chairman elect while his Co contestant Engineer Mukhtar Ahmed got two votes.

Engineer Benson Abuno described the entire election process as peaceful and transparent as well as applauded all PDP stakeholders and delegates for their patience and perseverance during the exercise.

In his acceptance speech the two time Chairman of PDP in Niger state Barr Tanko Beji promised to lead with the fear of Allah and carry every member along to move the party forward.

He however expressed optimism that the task ahead of them is to regain leadership of Niger state which he said requires collective efforts of all to succeed.

In their seperate response Senator Zainab Kure and National Financial Secretary of PDP Abdullahi Usman Maibasira charged party members to close ranks and shelve their sword to work collectively for the success of the party in future elections.

Other members elected are Barr Suleiman Jigun as Secretary and Samaila Bello as Treasurer while Yahaya Ability is elected as PDP Vice Chairman zone C.

They were sworn in by a member of the legal team of the committee Barr Ndayako Bida.
