NMA Partner Communities To Rid Human Trafficking

Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Kaduna state branch is to partner with community organizations to improve their living standard.

A medical consultant from the department of community medicine, Ahmadu Bello university Zaria Dr Hadiza HAMZA stated this during a community Dialogue in collaboration with kakaki Progressive Association KPA to mark world day against Trafficking in persons in Zaria.

Dr hadiza HAMZA explained that the united Nation set aside every thirtieth July to raise awareness, encourage vigilance and gaining support towards prevention of human trafficking globally.

She noted that community , religious leaders have a vital role to play in the fight against human trafficking across the country.

Also, Dr. Amina Oluwabukola Jimoh from the department of surgery said the public need to be aware on the dangers associated with human trafficking to the society.

Contributing, Sheik jibirin Ibrahim sharehu who recited clearly from Qur’an and Hadith that Islam forbids human trafficking in every face. adding that Allah created human being with high regard, integrity and value hence the need to respect the sanctity of life.

Earlier the Secretary General, kakaki Rrogressive Elders forum Dr, SHEHU Na Allah saidu commended the Nigerian Medical Association NMA for organizing such community dialogue and Free medical outreach to kakaki communities.

During the dialogue, legal practitioners, community leaders as well as members of kakaki communities exchange views towards educating the public for the purpose of ending human trafficking across the country.

Over one thousand victims of human trafficking are registered in Nigeria, mostly women and children with

Edo state recorded highest .
