NDE Trains 50 Graduates On Sustainable Agricultural Development

Federal Government has assured readiness to enhance food production and provide more profitable farm incomes as well as the quality of life for farm families nationwide.

The Director General, National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stated this while flagging off the Post Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme, P-SADTS, at MDGs Farm Center Samba, Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital.

Represented by the state coordinator of the Directorate, Malam Abdullahi Yakubu, said the program was organized for 50 selected graduates from the 3 senatorial districts of the state who indicated interest to venture into farming as a business.

According to him, the training is the first introduced by the Directorate to demonstrate commitment towards the actualisation of the government’s goals of diversifying the economy and creating jobs for unemployed persons.

Malam Abubakar Fikpo added that the program would also empower the trainees to establish, grow and expand Agric -enterprises of their choice on a sustainable basis to provide food, create employment, reduce poverty, and more agricultural skills to encourage youth to accept farming as means of livelihood.

The Director-General also charge the participants to effectively and efficiently use the opportunity to acquire the knowledge that would be imparted on various topics during the five days training.

He commended the efforts of the Zamfara State government and the good people for supporting the Directorate in the implementation of the programs especially the Ministry of Youth Development and Skills Acquisition.
