NSG Will Continue To Accord Education It’s Rightful Place – Commissioner

Niger state Commissioner of Education Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu while declaring opened the 7th Quadrennial NUT delegates conference in Minna.

Niger state government has again reaffirmed commitment to the development of education.

Commissioner of Education Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu announced this while declaring opened the seventh Quadrennial delegates conference holding at the NUT multi purpose conference Hall Tungangoro Minna.

Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu maintained that this is in view of it’s importance to the socio economic and political development of the state.

According to her Governor Abubakar Sani Bello led administration will continue to accord special commitment to the teaching profession and hold teachers in a very high esteem.

Speaking in a paper titled Empowering Teachers Building Sustainable Society former Registrar College Of Education Minna Yabagi Alfa opined that if teachers salary and other welfare packages is not good in comparison with other civil servants then the profession will not retain motivated and we’ll trained professionals of high quality thus building a sustainable society will become a mirage.

National President of NUT Dr Nasir Idris represented by the National Auditor Comrade Isa Yunusa Dangoguwa commended executive members of Niger state chapter of the union for executing viable and people oriented projects and advised others to emulate this gesture.

Outgoing Chairman of NUT Niger state chapter Comrade Ibrahim Umar who read volumes of what they have achieved also called on Niger state government to ensure regular payment of teachers salary improved welfare package and recruitment of more teachers.
