APC Rates Jigawa High In Terms Of Quality Basic Education

All Progressives Congress APC Media Group has commended Jigawa commitment to the improvement of Universal Basic Education in the state.

The team leader Dr Tom Ohikere stated this during a courtesy visit to the state deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Namadi.

Dr Tom explained that the team was in the state as part of their nationwide tour for assessing the progress made on Universal Basic Education in APC controlled states.

He said the assessment tour was meant to compile progress made to encourage learning and also create an avenue for award presentation to outstanding performance for a healthy competition.

The team leader pointed out that the exercise would also authenticate effort of the APC-led administration in making quality education available and affordable for every child across the country through the UBE/SUBEC /interventions.

According to him, nearly 13.5 million children in Nigeria are out-of-school, noting that all hands must be on deck to reduce this baffling number to the nearest minimum.

Dr Tom said provision of accessible and qualitative Basic Education was the foundation for higher education and establishment of driving forces for social and economic development in any society.

“Basic education afforded child with the ability to read and write, which make it easier for him to receive artisan training or further the education that enables him to be a productive, self-reliant and potential member of the society”

Dr Tom Ohikere further described the progress recorded in Jigawa state Basic Education as a clear manifestation of judicious use of federal and state intervention in the sector.
