KDSG Admonish Residents On Covid-19 Protocols During Sallah celebration

Kaduna State Taskforce on Covid 19 has advised residents of the state to adhere strictly with all Covid 19 protocols in places of religious and social gatherings to contain the third wave of the pandemic that is already in the country.

The Chairman of the Taskforce and Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Hadiza Balarabe who stated this in a statement said
the government wishes to alert citizens that the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic is already in the country, and the Delta variant of the virus is complicated.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe explained that, the Delta variant which is associated with rising numbers of infection, hospitalization, and deaths, is spreading in some parts of Africa and Nigeria, revealing that, the situation has put Kaduna, FCT, Kano, Oyo, Rivers and Plateau States on red alert.

She said, it is important and for residents to realize that, the Delta variant is highly infective with a worsened outcome for morbidity and mortality.

According to her, Government has a responsibility to enforce measures that would minimize the risk of importation of the variant in the State through strengthened surveillance at all points of entry and putting suspected cases in quarantine.

The Deputy Governor maintained that, the State Taskforce recommended that Eid prayer should be decentralized to neighborhood Friday mosques and prayers to be conducted out-door.

She further revealed that durbar activities and large gatherings are suspended, advising that all indoor gatherings should be limited on half capacity by while ensuring temperature checks, use of face mask, provision for hand Washing and use of Sanitizers.
