Alleged Bodily Harm: KDSG Vows Justice For 13year Old Victim

Kaduna State Government says it will ensure justice for a 13 -year-old girl Janet Audu who was allegedly burnt by Mrs Lucy Markus with hot water.

The State Commissioner for Human Service and Social development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba stated this at a news briefing in Kaduna.

Hajiya Hafsat Baba explained that the victim, Janeth Audu was working in the house of the alleged perpetrator, Mrs Lucy Markus as a house help when the incident occured.

According to her, the ministry got information about the incident, that one Mrs Lucy, a Staff of the Federal Road Safety Corps burnt her house help with hot water because the girl allowed her soup burn in the fire.

Hajiya Hafsat Baba explained that the alleged action of Mrs Lucy Markus of engaging the services of a thirteen year old as a house help amounted to child labour and trafficking which is an offense in Kaduna state.

Hajiya Hafsat Baba maintained that, the state government has already passed the child welfare and protection law to ensure that every child in the state is well protected.

Baba also solicited for support from members of the public to put all hand on deck and ensure that the child have access to good health care.

The Commissioner disclosed that her Ministry has sent letters of complain to FRSC, Police, Ministry of Justice and NAPTIP among others for next line of action.

According to her the state government would continue to pursue the case judiciously to ensure justice.
