NSCDC Arrests Five For Various Offences In Jigawa

The Jigawa state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has arrested 5 suspects alleged to have committed three different chargeable offences of rape, sodomy and theft.

The Public Relations Officer, CSC Adamu Shehu disclosed this to Radio Nigeria in Dutse, the state Capital.

According to him, a 21 year old Suspect from Aujarawa Village in Kanya Babba Town, Babura Local government area was arrested for allegedly raping a 13 year old girl of the same address.

He said he was suspected to have sneaked into the family house of the victim and had canal knowledge of her in her room while she was sleeping on Monday around 2am.

CSC Adamu shehu pointed out that the suspect was pursued by the mother of the victim who was awaken by the commotion she overheard while in the act.

Adamu Shehu explained that, the Command also arrested a twenty year old in Hakimi Street, Dutse Metropolitan on a suspected case of sodomy.

He said the suspect lured the thirteen year old victim into an uncompleted building and had anal relationship with him and was caught in the act by a personnel of the NSCDC who was passing by.

Similarly, 3 underaged suspects, 16,15 and 14 respectively were also paraded for alleged case of theft.

Adamu Shehu pointed out that the trio conspired and stole the sum of One hundred and forty tb naira from a grocery store belonging to one Malam Yusuf of Sabuwar Maranjuwa, in Dutse LGA.

He said one of the suspects hid himself inside the store and was unknowingly locked inside by the store owner who went to observe his prayers.

The PRO noted that,when the store was reopened, the owner discovered that someone had gained unauthorized access to his store and that was how the 15 year old suspect was arrested. 

Radio Nigeria reports that, the State Command awaits results from the Sexual Assault and Referral Center at Dutse General Hospital for the sexually abused to ascertain their health status. 

The Command also said all the suspects confessed to have committed the alleged offences and would be charged to courts of competent jurisdictions.
