Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has signed into law the legislative and judicial financial autonomy for the state.
Speaking after the signing, the governor who is also the vice Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum said Nigerian’s Governors are committed to the independent of the judiciary and legislature for the development of democracy in the country.
He explained that no governor in Nigeria is against the legislative and judicial Autonomy.
Tambuwal disclosed that over some months, there was unsubstantiated claimed against the governors that they were against the judicial and legislative financial autonomy which is not true.
He said the domestication of the financial autonomy by Sokoto state government is a clear indication that the governors are always ready to support true democracy for sustainable development.
Governor Tambuwa commended the speaker and the members of the state house of assembly for passing the gender based violence act and called on them to demosticate the child rights Act in the interest of the state.
In his remarks, Speaker of the state house of the assembly Muhammad Achida thanked the Governor for cordial working relationship with the house irrespective of political divide and promised to give the governor full support to justified the trust reposed on him.
