Reps Condemn Incessant Abduction Of Students

House of Representatives has
Condemned the ongoing senseless incessant killings and abductions of Nigerian children in schools.

This was sequel to a motion of urgent public importance by a member from Kaduna state, Mr Yakubu Barde, on the killings and abduction of his constituents in Chukun and Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna state.

Mr Yakubu Barde, who confirmed that the ongoing Kidappings and killings had negative impact on food security, agriculture, employment and education stressed that if urgent steps were not put in place northern part of the country will collapse.

The lawmaker however, emphasized that the menace had affected the education sector in Kaduna as the state Government directed the shutdown of thirteen schools as a part of measures to prevent further incidences.

He said to this effect thousands of people have been displaced from their communities due to frequent attacks and are currently taking refuge in various Unofficial IDP camps in his constituency.

Adopting the motion, the house called on all security agencies to take necessary measures to ensure early and safe return of all abductees.

The house also urged the federal Government to increase the presence of security agents within the constituency.
