Police Receives Operational Vehicles In Zaria

Kaduna State Police Command has hands over
operational vehicles donated by Philanthropists to Divisional Police
Officers (DPOs) in Zaria to strengthen security.


The state Commissioner of Police CP Umar Musa Muri while speaking during a brief ceremony at the emir’s palace in Zaria
said the gestures would no doubt boost the morale of both Nigeria
Police Force and the residents.

He added that the actions of these patriotic citizens have proved that
hope was not lost in the need for stakeholders to work together
with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies at ensuring
peace and order in the communities.

The Commissioner who handed over the vehicles on behalf of the Inspector General of
Police tasked the beneficiaries to judiciously use the vehicles
for effective patrol in their area of responsibility.

“The vehicles donated by these philanthropists which are to be
officially handed over today are
two Toyota Hilux Pick-up Vans to Zaria City Divisional Headquarters
and one Volkswagen Golf III Wagon to Area Command Headquarters Zaria.

“One Toyota Hilux Pick-up Van provided to Dan’Magaji Divisional
Headquarters; and
three Toyota Hilux Vans to Operation Puff Adder II Zaria,’’
he said.

Muri added that the donation would assist considerably in
upgrading security within and outside Zazzau Emirate.

In a remark, Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Bamalli said the emirate
council would continue and pursue well meaning citizens in the area
for additional support to the police and other security agencies to
enhance security in the area.


Bamalli said the council reached to the philanthropist in the
emirate shortly after the commissioner of police expressed the need
for support from community sometimes ago who responded immediately.


He assured the CP that communities were now awake every night for
patrol alongside the officers and men of the Nigeria Police.
He commended the divisional police officers within the emirate council
whom he described as hardworking officers.


According to him, the council was aware of the logistics challenges in the
command and appealed to the CP to support Zaria Metropolis considering
the challenges in the area.


He noted that the sensitisation was yielding result as more positive
results, adding that many residents of some trouble areas such as Kidandan, Giwa
and Zaria becomes optimistic that things would be better.


*The only issue now where we need the support of the police is the hotels which harbor some criminals; we are not going to relent, we will follow due process and ensure that such hotels are shutdown

There is also issue of child abuse for girls under 18 years who are
selling themselves as a glorified prostitutes, this is unacceptable by
all standards and laws.


“There was a raid that took place where these girls and many
homosexuals were arrested; homosexuality is not allowed by our
religions, it is not agreeable to us, I will not allow it in this
area,’
the emir added.

The royal father sought the support of the police to deescalate
matter and address the challenge.
