Niger State Sacks Over 700 Civil Servants, Others

Five accountants, a medical doctor and seven hundred and fifty eight civil servants have been sacked by the Niger state government for alleged involvement in fraudulent acts.

Chairman, Niger State Civil Service Commission Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Galadima who announced this while addressing Newsmen in Minna said they were also involved in the violation of extant rules.

Alh Shehu Galadima explained that a total of five thousand, two hundred and fifty eight civil servants have been retired in the past three years.

According to him, forty six personnels violated extent rules after thorough investigation and were dismissed.

Among them are a doctor, five accountants, thirty one Pension Board staff, two health workers and four ICT staff.

On certificate racketeering, Alhaji Shehu Galadima said three hundred and twenty eight personnels were dismissed from service after the Commission undertook a forensic examination of all certificate they presented during interview and the institutions they purported to have attended declared their claims as forgery.

He however added that a total of one thousand one hundred and thirty three have been screened and employed into critical areas such as education, health and the state Fire Service.
