Jigawa State, FCDO Sign Policy Document

Jigawa state government has signed the new Development Policy Document which was adopted after a strategic dialogue between the State Government and officials of the Foreign Common wealth and Development office FCDO at  Government House in Dutse.

In his address,  Governor Badaru Abubakar explained that the state has been very successful in meeting the target of the previous policy document.

According to him, with the new policy the state would partner with the development partners for its full implementation.

Alhaji Badaru Abubakar said the state government will not relent until the set objectives are achieved, which is aimed at delivering good governance to the people of the state.

He commended the United Kingdom team that are working closely with the state government to achieve the target that were set in the previous document.

The Governor also commended the stakeholders in the state team who despite the burden and enormous responsibility, worked tirelessly to make the state top on the list in Nigeria.

In his speech, the Development Director Foreign Common Wealth and Development Office of the UK government, Dr Chris Pycroft pointed out that they have agreed with the Jigawa state government on a mutual accountability framework that will deepen the relationship of both governments.

Dr Chris noted that the mutual accountability framework covers a whole range of reform initiatives in the area of governance, human development and economic development.

According to him, the United Kingdom government will support the state in its reforms.

Radio Nigeria reports that the signing of the document was witnessed by the state Deputy Governor,  Mallam Umar Namadi, the Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini as well as members of the state executive council.
