Gov Zulum Marks 2yrs Of Infrastructural Development

Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum says he will consolidate on the gains recorded in area of security and improve human capacity development in the next two years of his administration.

The Governor stated this at a ceremony to mark democracy day and two years of his administration at multipurpose hall of the Government House in Maiduguri.

The Governor pledged the commitment more than ever before to provide robust security with the support of the military and other security agencies.

According to him, the last two years of his administration has witnessed a lot of infrastructural transformation in areas of construction of mega schools and primary healthcare centres.

Governor Zulum however noted that to make the education and health sectors more effective, over three thousand qualified teachers would be recruited in addition to Doctors and other health workers in the next two years.

“We have built a lot of schools, yes, we have built hospitals, but honestly speaking at the bottom of my heart am not satisfied. Why because the most important ingredient of education is and health services is effective services. When you build schools you need teachers, you build hospitals you need personnel and upto now our primary education is in comatose stage”

Professor Babagana Zulum announced that the state government has received about one billion naira from the basic healthcare provision fund to strengthen the primary healthcare system.

He urged people of the state to continue to lend their support to his administration for the growth and development of the state.

In their goodwill messages, Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Elkanemi, Senator Mohammed Ndume, Chief Whip of House of Representatives, Honourable Tahir Monguno and Chairman Borno Elders Forum Alhaji Gambo Gubio all lauded Governor Zulum for the giant strides despite the insurgency.
