Child Labour, Molestation On The Rise In Kano – Hisbah Board

The Commander General of the kano state hisbah board, Sheikh Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina has reiterated the agency’s commitment in eradicating all forms of child labour and molestation, domestic violence, drug abuse among others.

Sheikh Ibn Sina made this known while briefing newsmen at hisbah headquarters sharada kano.

According to him cases of child labour and molestation were on the rise in kano,as such there was urgent need for parents, guardians and relevant stakeholders to work tirelessly in curtailing the menace.

The commander general explained that most of the underage girls employed as house helps were turned into slaves or being molested.

Ibn Sina pointed out that cases of elopement were also on the rise in kano as the board had received various complaints from parents concerning their teenage female daughters eloping with their boyfriend’s.

He maintained that,most of the teenage girls were found in company of different men who had deceived and brain washed them with fake marriage intentions.

The commander general who attributed the rise in such cases to poverty,illeteracy and negligence Said the kano state hisbah board would arrest and prosecute anyone found guilty of trafficking underage children,child molestation,drug abuse among others.

He urged the general public to report any suspected character to relevant authorities and cautioned people against taking law into their hands.
