Police Assures To Partner Other Agencies In Tackling Insecurity

Kaduna State Police Command has assured that it would do all it takes to strengthen relationship with sister security agencies in the area of intelligence sharing with a view to tackling security challenges in the state.

In a statement by the Command’s Spokesperson ASP Mohammed Jalige, the state commissioner of police Umar Musa Muri gave the assurance when he received the garrison commander, one division of the Nigerian Army in his office.

The CP noted that the Command had been working cordially with the military in the state, stressing that it would continue to synergize with sister agencies from the grassroots.

Responding, the Garrison Commander, Brigadier General Opuene explained that the purpose of the visit was to familiarize himself with the command, seek for collaboration and intelligence sharing between the police and military.

He noted that the military recognised the vital role of the police as it concerns internal security, noting that the military needed the support of the police in order to achieve its mandate.

In a related development, CP Umar Musa Muri also received the Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, where he expressed the Command’s readiness to ensure adequate security before, during and after the conduct of the forth coming local council elections in the state.

He assured the commission that a free and fair election would be guaranteed as all aspirants would be given a level playing ground.
