From Aliyu Lawal, Minna

National President of the organisation Alh Yusuf Musa Ardo

A Non Governmental Organisation the Wallidira Fulani Initiative for Peace and Orientation has forwarded a petition to the Federal Government over what it described as unconstitutional attacks and pre ethnic cleansing of innocent members of fulani communities at Bangi and it’s environs by some people in Mariga local government council of Niger state.

National President of the organisation Alh Yusuf Musa Ardo stated this when he presented a copy of the petition to the Niger state police command in Minna.

Alh Yusuf Musa Ardo lamented that a total of one hundred and fifty innocent members of fulani communities in Bangi and it’s environs have been killed recently by members of that community without any justifiable reason.

According to him the problem has left many fulanis in that area devastated and if left unchecked would further create tension and disunity between the fulanis and those accused of perpetuating such ungodly act.

Alh Yusuf Musa Ardo however cautioned the fulanis against taken the law into their hands because of the faith they have with Nigeria police that they will be fair and just in discharging their duties.

He said though about one thousand five hundred of the people have been displaced leaving in Kontagora and Kaduna state as IDP’s stressing that they are expecting nothing more than justice from the Nigeria police.

In his remarks Police Public Relations Officer Niger state command DSP Wasiu Abiodun said the Commissioner of police Adamu Usman had directed for a thorough investigation into the matter to unravel the authenticity of their petition.

He gave an assurance that the outcome of their findings would be made public.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun also commended them for resorting to peaceful and acceptable means of seeking redress and advised others to emulate the gesture
