Army Reaffirms Commitment To Tackle Insecurity In The Country

The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed commitment towards tackling security challenges in the country.

The General officer commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, kaduna, Major General Danjuma Ali keffi stated this during the passing out of 80 regular recruit intake at the Depot Nigerian Army, zaria.

Major General Ali keffi,who was the reviewing officer at the event said that the military had been battling various security challenges oƧcasioned by the activities of insurgents, armed bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements.

He assured that the army would not rest until the country was safe for all.

Major General Ali Keffi said since the establishment of Depot Nigerian Army in 1924,it had the mandate of transforming able bodied civilians in to soldiers to meet the manpower requirements of the Nigerian Army.

He said the passing out of 6,400 abled bodied men and women will strengthen the Nigerian Army, noting that the Depot had been able to evolve innovative ways of improving the standard of training in the Nigerian Army.

Ali keffi explained that the Nigerian Army had been yielding positive results which was evident by the robust fighting spirit of the soldiers in various theater of operations.

The reviewing officer reminded the soldiers of the oath of allegiance administered to them and advised them to avoid acts capable of tarnishing the image of the Nigerian Army and the nation in general.

The ceremony was observed while the flag at the parade ground flew at half-mast in honour of the late Chief of Army staff,Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a plane crash last week.
