Kaduna State Chapter of the National Association of women Journalists (NAWOJ) has congratulated Major General Farouq Yahaya on his appointment as Chief of Army Staff.
This was contained in a statement in Kaduna by the Chairperson and Secretary of the Association, Fatima Aliyu and Maureen Sheyin respectively.
The statement described Major General Farouq Yahaya as a thorough bred professional senior officer, highly disciplined, well focused, result oriented and committed officer who is poised to repositioning the Nigerian Army in line with global best practices.
It noted the track record of excellence in service of General Farouq Yahaya as Military Secretary, General Officer Commanding One Division Kaduna and lately, Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai prior to his eventual appointment as Chief of Army Staff.
The statement urges Major General Farouq Yahaya to remain determined, resolute and continue to operate an open door policy with a view to finding lasting solutions to security challenges across Nigeria.
The Association commended President Muhammadu Buhari for making the right decision to settle for General Farouq Yahaya and hoped that he will consolidate on the gains so far recorded in the on going fight against terrorism, which according to it, he is familiar with.
The Statement prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and protection on the new Army Chief as he steers the affairs of the Nigerian Army.
