Security Summit: PMB Urges Nigerians To Join The Fight

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to put aside all partisanship and join hand in the fight against insecurity bedevilling the country.

President made the call while declaring open a five-day National Security Summit organised by the House of Representatives in Abuja.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the President attributing the insecurity challenges to the nations porous borders as well as using stem in ethnic, political and religious differences among Nigerians.

In his address, the Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, said the National Security Summit was organised to allow stakeholders share ideas with a view to proffer practicable solutions to the menace.

Also speaking, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan advocated more funding for the nation’s security sector to enable them carryout their constitutional mandate effectively.

In his remark, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, emphasized the need for proper implementation of all policies and reforms garnered at such fora in the interest of development.

The summit is expected to identify specific legislative actions that will ensure effective and efficient operation of security agencies.
