Nasarawa State Flags-Off Free Medical Outreach

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has flagged off free medical outreach to vulnerable and less privileged as part of activities to mark his second anniversary in office.

The Governor also presented cards to people from Doma local government to enroll them into the State Health Insurance Scheme.

Speaking at the flag off, Governor Sule said the free medical services initiative was aimed at providing services including surgery to the less privileged in the state.

Also Speaking, the State Commissioner for Health, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya said the medical outreach services was going on simultaneously across the entire thirteen local government areas of the state.

He explained that, the Medical Doctors, Pharmacist, Nurses, Medical Lab Scientists among other medical personnel were deployed to ensure the success of the exercise.

The State Commissioner added that one of the beneficiary of the surgery was a woman who delivered twins through CS, adding that the team also attended and treated over four hundred persons with different health challenges.

He therefore called on the entire citizens of the state to key into the health insurance scheme in order to better their living conditions.

The Governor had also visited the palace of Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Amadu Ogah Onawo and also held a town hall meeting with stakeholders to get feedback on the performance of his administration so far.
