Low Reading Culture Is Due To Poor Content – NLA Chairman

The Chairman of Nigerian LibraryAssociation Kano Chapter Malam Danladi Bala has attributed the low habit of Reading Culture among people of nowadays to poor contents some books .

Danladi Bala stated this while briefing Journalist on the preparations of Association’s 58/59 Annual Conference scheduled to take place in Kano.

The state chairman who was represented by Alhaji Sunusi Abdullahi Nassarawa attributed lack of maintaining the reading culture to Abandoning the library sector in primary and secondary schools.

“Another sector is the emergence of internet,many students prefer to browse what they want to know ,and within five minutes they have gotten what they looking for,as such the habit of Reading books was gradually fading off among people”

Danladi Bala explained that about two thousand participants from all parts of the country were expected to attend the conference.

He said some people would be awarded with award of honours in recognition of their outstanding performances in the library sector,among which include Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state.

The state chairman of NLA maitained that the five days long Activities would boost the Economic status of the state , especially with regard to the Number of participants that would booked Accommodations, transport as well as exploring the commercial activities of the state.

The Conference themed Libraries inspiring ,engaging ,Enabling and Connecting Stakeholders for Sustainable Development is being hosted by the Kano state Chapter of the Association and is expected to be declared open by the Governor of Kano state Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
