Nigerian Airforce has organised a medical outreach programme as part of activities marking its fifty-seventh anniversary.

Declaring the event open, Commander of the Two-Seven-One detachment, Group Captain Steven Paul Sekegor said the occasion is part of the forces’ Corporate Social Responsibility.

He maintained that the event was also an avenue to win the hearts and minds of people with a view to building confidence in them.

In a message to the occasion, Emir of Birnin Gwari, Mallam Zubairu Jibril Mai Gwari the second commended the NAF for the gesture.

Represented by Mallam Yusuf Yahaya Abubakar the Emir pledged the continued support of the Emirate to the force as well as other security agencies with a view to tackling security challenges in the area.

He urged the people to continue to remain peaceful, law abiding and continue to pray for lasting peace in Birnin Gwari.

Some of the beneficiaries of the medical outreach expressed delight over the gesture and pledged their continued support and cooperation to the force.

Some of the services rendered by the force included distribution of mosquito nets to pregnant women, treatment of malaria, fever, hypertension, eye problems, among others.

A total of Two Hundred and fifty people benefitted from the programme.
