Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal And Indonesian Ambassador Mr Usra Handrahap

Sokoto State Government says it’s working on a modalities towards addressing the challenge of cattle rustling, banditry and farmer’s-herder’s clashes.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal stated this while receiving Indonesian Ambassador on a working visit to the state.

Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal said already, the state was partnering Indonesian government, Islamic Development Bank IsDB and Nigeria Incentive Based Risk Sharing system for Agricultural lending. NIRSAl to speed up development.

He regretted that the incessant security challenges affecting the north had eaten into the fabric of the socio-economic and political development of the region.

The Governmor Stressed that the partnership would avail indigenous farmers and neighbouring States as well as Niger republic the opportunity for a secured livestock rearing devoid of cattle rustling and other challenges.

According to him, Government is transforming the animals health centres across the state and also encouraging mechanised farming for effective service delivery.

Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal noted with delight for the sustained interest and support accorded to the state in many sectoral development by the Indonesian government.

In a remark, the Indonesian Ambassador, Mr Usra Handrahap expressed satisfaction with the levels of commitment between the two countries which was already yielding positive results for of both of the countries.
