FEC Approves Over N6b For Various Electricity Projects In The Country

The Ministry of Power has obtained approval from the Federal Executive Council to award about 300 million Naira contract for the design, manufacture, and supply of 330, 132, and 33kv circuit breakers.

Minister of Power, Alhaji Saleh Mamman told State House Correspondents that approval was also given to the ministry to procure 50 sets of battery banks and 30 battery chargers for use at substations at the cost of over 600 million Naira.

Alhaji Saleh Mamman said FEC had approved the design, supply, and installation of Optical Ground Wire for some critical transmission lines at the cost of about 7 million Naira.

The Minister said his ministry had again been given approval to review upward the contract sum for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, and commissioning of 1-by-100mva, and 133kva power transformers at Ogba Transmission Sub-station, Lagos.

He explained that the objective was to have improved, uninterrupted power supply in the country.
