NDE Trains Zamfara Youth On Integrated Farming

National Directorate of Employment, NDE has flagged off training of 100 youths on integrated farming to actualize federal government’s efforts of diversifying economy and job creation for unemployed persons.

In a Keynote address by the Director General of the NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo said, the youths who indicates interest to take farming as business venture, were selected from the 3 senatorial zones of the state.

The DG who was represented by the Zamfara State Coordinator of the NDE, Malam Abdullahi Yakubu explained that, the participants of the 3 months training, will be trained on Poultry Production; Fish rearing; Veritable garden; Sheep and Goat production under the NDE’s Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) 2021.

He noted that the first two weeks of the training will be on life skills lectures, Business plan, Crop Production and Livestock Production while the remaining weeks will be on adaptive farm training for practical experience.

On his part, Permanent Secretary, Zamfara State Ministry of Youth, Tukur Garba who was represented by the Director Administration of the Ministry, Sani Shehu Ibrahim, commended NDE for the training which he described as timely and of paramount importance.

He also called on the participants to pay attention to the training.

In a Remark, Acting Chairman Zamfara Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, Alhaji Aliyu Guraguri said integrated farming pays better and called on government to train more youths on it.
