Zulum Promises Completion Of State Teaching Hospital Before Tenure Ends

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and the newly Inaugurated Chairman governing Council, Borno State University, Dr Muhammadu Indimi at Government House Maiduguri

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum says his administration will continue to make huge investment in the education sector to liberate the society from extreme ideological influence of Boko Haram insurgents.

The Governor stated this while inaugurating the first governing council of Borno State University under the chairmanship of one of the illustrious sons of the State, Dr Muhammadu Indimi.

Professor Zulum observed that University which commenced its academic activities in 2019 has become an integral institution in development of the State.

He charged the Chairman and members of Council to formulate policies that will ensure efficiency and prudent management of scarce resources, consolidate on the level of development so far achieved and maintain high level of academic standard.

“The Governing Council and Management of the University must therefore work as a team through maintaining cordial and harmonious working relationship and synergies with other institutions to promote teaching and research”.

Governor Babagana Zulum also expressed commitment to complete the State University Teaching Hospital and College of Health Sciences before the expiration of his tenure.

According to him, the Teaching Hospital when completed will help reduce medical tourism to Europe and Asian countries.

The Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Dr Muhammadu Indimi assured to lift the standard of the University and attract critical development to the institution.

He promised to focus on promoting female education as he has so far provided scholarship to 200 female students to study medicine in Sudan.
