Insecurity Bedeviling Development Of The Country – Former Minister

Addressing the challenge of insecurity has been described as one of the numerous problems bedeviling the development of the Country.

Former Nigeria’s Minister of foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali stated this during the Kano State Policy Consultation Engagement Meeting organized by a non Governmenal Organization, Savannah Centre for Diplomacy , Democracy and Development (SCDDD) ,held in Kano.

Ambassador Aminu Wali said the greatest challenge the country was facing in recent times was insecurity, hence the need for stakeholders to join hands in ensuring peace and security of the Nation.

” Once people lose confidence in having peace and security, then our country is gone. What we are doing is non political, we are trying to help and contribute both at federal and state, aimed at moving the Nation forward”

Wali stressed that the NGO would explore all the necessary avenues in ensuring peace and security of the Nation.

Speaking while presenting a paper tittled sensitive Policy Making for promoting Sustainable Peace and Security, the Director,Center for Gender Studies , Department of Sociology Kaduna State University Professor Hauwa’u Evelyn said it was pertinent for policy makers to be sure of the needs of a Community, before embarking on a project.

She called for Consistence investigation and evidence gathering Approach aimed at ensuring Sustainable Peace and Security.

Earlier the Executive Director of SCDDD Ambassador Sani Bala said the aim of the meeting was to fine-tune modalities of addressing the Challenge of insecurity as well as promoting peace in the Country.

During the meeting Community Engagement Policy Outcome Document volume one was unveiled by Ambassador Aminu Wali and other Dignitaries that attended the meeting.

The meeting attracted participants from the traditional institutions, the Academia,and other stakeholders
