National Population Commission-NPC says it has reached advanced level on preparations for the forthcoming census in other to have a successful conduct of the exercise.

The Federal Commissioner of the Commissioner in Kano, Dr Isma’il Lawal Suleiman stated this while presenting a paper towards a reliable Census, held at the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Bayero University Kano.

He said the aim of the presentation was to enlighten the general populace on the plans made by the National population Commission in ensuring a hitch free census was conducted in the country as soon as a declaration was made by the President.

Dr Isma’il Lawal Suleiman explained that one of the key Census preparatory activities was the Enumeration Area Demacation, saying so far the commission had covered 545 local Government Areas across the country.

The Federal Commissioner noted that the current Leadership and surbodinates of the Commission were very determined in ensuring that the set objectives were fully achieved.

In a remark, the Vice Chancellor, Bayero University Kano, Professor Mohammad Sagir Abbas represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Professor Sani Mohammad Gumel said the workshop was very timely aimed at acquainting the public the readiness of Government in conducting a hitch free census.

The workshop was attended by the NPC Federal Commissioners of Adamawa, Ekiti, Katsina and Kogi, others dignitaries includes university lecturers, stakeholders and the public.
