Kaduna Property Owners Applaud Elrufai, Seeks Mutual Cooperation

From Teddy Daniel, Kaduna

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has been described as a stickler to rule of law in running the affairs of the state.

This was the submission of the Chairman Gbagyi Villa Property Owners Association, Mr Chris Obudumu during a press briefing in Kaduna.

Mr Chris Obudumu explained that Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s belief in the rule of law was demonstrated in his non interference with court proceedings between Gbagyi Villa Community and the State Government in the last five years

He stressed that the judgment, the community secured at the state High Court was a victory for the rule of law, while thanking the judiciary for giving the community a fresh opportunity to interact and interface with the state government.

The community appealed to the State Government to direct KASUPDA to regularise their documents as they were eager to fulfill their duties as citizens, including financial obligations which would invariably attract infrastructural development to the community.

Mr Chris Obudumu also commended the State Government on its massive infrastructural development aim at re-engineering the foundation of the state while calling on citizens to work with government to achieve set objectives.

The case between Property owners at Gbagyi Villa and the State Government has been in Kaduna State High Court since 2016 with final judgment in favour of the property owners delivered in February by Justice Hannatu Balogun.
