The General Officer Commanding first mechanized Division of the Nigerian Army Kaduna Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi says the current Leadership of the Nigerian Army was committed in improving physical fitness, leadership skills aimed at Enhancing their capacity in fighting insecurity.
Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi stated this during the Closing Ceremony of 1, Division inter-brigade Corporals and below Competition in Kano, geared towards enhancing their proficiency in fighting insecurity in the country.
He said the training was Organized to enhance the physical training of the personnel of the Nigerian Army.
“Corporal and below ranks in the Nigerian Army are great portion in the army which plays significant role in fighting insecurity and other security challenges hence training and retraining must be implored frequently to ensure there fitness”
The General Officer Commanding who Commended the participants of the Competition ,urged them to be more agile and dedicated in the discharge of there duties.
Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi who was overwhelmed with the performance of three female soldiers during the obstacle cross drill, promoted them to the next Rank, saying the gesture was to boost the morale of the soldiers to discharge there duties with passion and professionalism.
In a remark the Commandant of the Nigerian Army Depot Zaria Major General Abdulsalam Ibrahim said the sports Competition was very timely,geared towards achieving team sprit, togetherness, Physical and mental fitness.
“The level of passion and professionalism I’ve seen this afternoon shows the motivation in ensuring the Achievement of Chief of Army Staff Vision “
He urged participants to ensure the training and lessons learnt were carried along in day to day activities and conduct of Operations in various formations and Units.
During the closing ceremony 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army emerged overall wainner in Weapon Handling, Combat Swimming ,While Formation from 1, Division kaduna emerged Second followed by 31 Attilary Brigade Minna.
