NSCDC, SON , Destroys Expired Products Worth 8 million Naira In Kano

The Operatives of Anti Vandalism unit of the Nigeria security and civil defence Corps, Kano command have participated in the destruction of thousands of cartons of expired mosquito coils and sub standard electric cables.

This was contained in a media statement signed by the NSCDC Kano command public Relations officer ASC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi,and was made available to journalist in Kano.

The statement explained that the Anti Vandalism Unit of the Corps Kano state Command in a joint operations with the staff of standard organization of Nigeria (SON) Kano office embarked on a clampdown of traders who specialised in selling expired and sub standard products which endangered lives of millions of Nigerians.

The statement further explained that during the successful operations cartons of expired and sub standard products were confiscated, and the culprits had been charged to Court.

The products loaded in 2 trailer trucks worth over 8 million Naira were destroyed publicly in a site at Rijiyar Gwangwan, Dawakin kudu LGA of Kano State.

Those present to witness the destruction exercise were personnel of the NSCDC Kano command, Zonal coordinator Standard organization of Nigeria, district Head of Dawakin kudu.

Others were chairman Abubakar Rimi market sabon gari, representative of Area comptroller Nigeria customs service as well as the representative of National environmental standard and regulatory agency ( Nesrea).
